Social media platforms can help bring visibility to your business, as long as you are doing the necessary tips and tricks to drive customers there.

Below are a few examples of what to do to drive customers/clients to your Instagram, Facebook, Google Page and bring  awareness to your business.

Instagram

  • Only use hashtags in the comments section of your post (make sure it’s in the first comment).
  • Hashtags should be specific to your post and the area you are located in.
  • Post at least once or twice a week.
  • Never use stock photos.
  • Always “follow” current or potential clients/customers.
  • Engage with your followers (liking, commenting, sharing, etc).
  • The best times to post are first thing in the morning, right before lunch, right before bed, when people tend to scroll through Instagram.
  • Videos always bring more attention than photos.

Facebook

  • Hashtags mean nothing on Facebook.
  • Ensure all your contact information is accurate and up to date.
  • For business pages, ensure you are answering EVERY message and comment within a timely manner.
  • Sharing your company information on your personal Facebook page will bring more attention to your business compared to your business page.
  • Change your cover page with any deals or specials going on, what detail you want to focus on during that specific time, or a picture of a specific service you offer.
  • Not many people see your posts on your business Facebook page, so you only need to post once or twice a month.
  • Do NOT use stock photos. Unique content is best.
  • Always “follow” current or potential clients/customers.
  • Engage with your followers (liking, commenting, sharing, etc).
  • Good times to post are, first thing in the morning, right before lunch, right before bed, when people tend to scroll through Instagram.

Google

  • Respond to ALL Google Reviews.
  • Do not use home addresses.
  • Make sure your website address is always working. A broken website link will hurt your listing.
  • Add services to your listing. Look up keywords or phrases your visitors are searching to find your listing (under the insights tab of your listing).
  • Never use stock photos.
  • Never delete any photos you’ve already posted.
  • Geotag all of your photos with the address you listed in your Google Listing.
  • Make sure you have a Google website page created.
